Have nursary rhymes always scared you? They have always scared me, and no wonder why! Check out their hidden meanings.

Oranges & Lemons
Oranges & Lemons is actually to do with prisonors walking the mile to their death sentace (back then...).

Tree blind mice
This isnt a perticually nice nursary rhyme because the mice get their tails cut off with a carving knife! But this rhyme is actually to do with protestants burned at the stake! Urggh.

Jack & Jill
Again, not a nice nursary rhyme, because jacks falls and break his head! But this is about King Louis XVI and Marie Anoinette having their heads chopped off with a guilatine (big horrible head choppy thing).

Ring around the roses
I have never linked this nursary rhyme, theres always been somthing creepy about it! Well you know the part where everyone falls down at the end? Its not to catch 'Fishies' in the water, its because they dies from the plague, and the poses where used to stop the plague. Signs you had the plague where sneezing, (a tishoo, a tishoo). Now you know!.. Scary eh?

Bar bar black sheep
This one is about how people used to get taxted in the old days. Apparently the master is a king, the dame is a nobility and the little boy who lived down the lane was a church!?! Kinda wierd, but hey?

Yankee doodle
British people apparently used to laugh at American colonials, but the Americans turned tables on the britsish and made this rhyme their own in the American revolution!

London bridge is falling down
Speeks for itself really, london fell down but was re-built with iron and steel!

Grand old Duke of York
Somthing to do with war of roses apperntly!?!

Humpty Dumpty
Humpty is a cannon in the Civil war! That couldnt be fixed, all the kings men couldnt fix it.

Mary Mary quite contrary
Mary is actually Mary Tudar and her silver bells and cockle shells are actuallt instruments of torture! The pretty maids all in a row where actually somthing called a maiden to behead people! Yuk!

Mulberry bush
A Mulberry bush was planted in a prison and every morning the prisonors where made to run around this Mulberry bush. Weird!
